My name is Marko Petrovic Jovanović, I’m 34 years old, and I live in Montenegro in the city of Kotor. Honestly I’ve always liked talking a bit about myself not out of arrogance but because I believe that when you know yourself well so you can figure out where you’re going and what you want to achieve.
I work in architecture and my whole job revolves around design, building, and turning imagination into reality. Sometimes when I look at the buildings around Kotor I wonder what were the people who designed these thinking? For me, architecture isn’t just a job as it’s a passion and It’s what makes me wake up in the morning excited.
But what’s funny is that recently I’ve developed a new interest and it is programming as I spend long hours in front of my computer learning to code figuring out how to develop website interfaces and designing not just on paper but on screen as well.
What really drives me is this big dream I have which I want to create my own architecture app. Imagine an app that helps architects all over the world and I’m the one who built it with my own hands so I also want the app to have a beautiful interface so anyone using it feels like it’s simple and enjoyable.
Some people might say marko you’re busy with architecture and you want to dive into programming too but honestly and I see both as connected. Architecture needs creativity and imagination and so does programming. The only difference is one is on paper and the other is on a screen.
I always remind myself that dreams aren’t impossible. If you have passion and patience you’ll get there. And hopefully I will be not just an architect but also a successful app developer and when that happens, I’ll look back at all the hard work and smile from the heart.
