It was three weeks ago when the President of the Philippines, Duterte told us to have a lock down. By being a lock down, of course many establishments will be closed for the time being. There are businesses or companies who are still open but depend on what kind of service are their companies doing. Just like for example, grocery stores, pharmacies, bank. They are still open for an emergency usage maybe.
When the President told us there is now work. Many of us were disappointed, well I'm not one of them. They said that who will support them to buy foods or to pay the bills. The President realised already that's why he extended the government to help those citizens who needs more help. He said that the government will give support from us by giving rice and canned goods. Not only that, no need to pay bills while in lock down.
But you know the government needs more time before what had said will come true. Just like us, we waited for almost a month before we have received now the rice. Yes, I know it's not that plenty but at least it can help us to sustain our daily needs for a longer time. Of course the types of rice will not be that delicious like we used to buy. But no time to be choosy for now. The important is there something we can eat and something is free to have.
These personnel came from the brgy. or government branch. They were the one. in charge of giving the rice to everyone. They decided to be house to house so that the citizens will not go to the brgy. establishment an fall in line. For sure the social distancing will not be avoided if many citizens will go to that place to have the support from the government.
Of course it's not that plenty so we need to divide for each person or each household. Like me or my boardmates who doesn't have family here. Every 1 person will receive 5 kg of rice. Unlike for those who have family, 25kg rice per household.
We are still waiting for the canned goods because according to them there will be. Just a bit delayed since they're out of stock for now. I'm just afraid that the government will be poor because of this. The budget of the government are now giving it all to the people to help them to survive before this corona ends.
According to the President, for those who can survive please don't ask support. Those who have extra, please help the poorest of the poor. For this crisis let's be united and fight together.
