Never was I an avid book reader. Its just mere 2 years ago, the epiphany hit me on the importance and benefits of reading books. From then onwards I have read plethora of books especially on the topic of Personal Development. The Idea is to read books which are not there on the top 10 list or the must read list. My Notion behind it is "If your reading the same book as everyone else, your thoughts will also be the same as everyone else" What makes you unique?
Although, I have to be honest I have read the few of the must read books, because they were actually a must read,to mention a few
1.How to win Friends and Influence People By Dale Carnegie.
2.Power of Your Subconscious Mind By Joseph Murphy.
3.The Monk Who sold his Ferrari By Robin Sharma.
You cant miss reading these books, they are legendary.

There are some books which take permanent residence in our soul and become our blood and drive for the rest of our life. We all have this one book which has made a great Impact on our life. One Such Book for me "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" By Robin Sharma.
Our day goes by, by interpreting the world through our filters. The emotional up and down, cycle of stress and relaxation , multitude of thoughts racing through our minds when experienced routinely becomes monotonous.
Reading is my way out of reality and into the exciting realm the author has created. Its a world where we can visualize ourselves as the heroic characters in the book. Reading also gives you the wisdom and knowledge to fight through daily life. The Book "Power of Your Subconscious Mind" By Joseph Murphy is one such Book
How has the lockdown effected my reading habit?
Being a flag bearer of buying and reading physical books, In this pandemic like most of us I had to lower my flag and adjust to Corona lifestyle. My reason for fondness of physical books are thre-
- I love the smell of a new book.
- Its one of the rare time we are away from a screen.
- In a way your paying price for the book which does justice to the authors years of work.
What I had to do to continue my habit of reading?
Initially, I re-read some of the books I had and some articles on my some magazines.
Then, one fine day I came across this ad "Amazon Kindle Subscription-Read Unlimited books for 199 INR a month". All I saw was Unlimited and Books. Obviously I clicked the ad and read the assorted benefits. The benefits clearly out weighed my principal of reading only physical books.
- Unlimited Books to read for free ( Not all )
- In-built Dictionary
- Highlighting(which translates into a summary page)
- Ability to Carry 10 books at a time.
- The Store has millions of books from different genre's.(Fiction, Non-fiction, Comic Books)
I am someone who writes down the summary of a book as I am reading, which is time consuming thats where I was sold to the Amazon Kindle's benefit of highlighting to a summary. Never thought this day would come. You all tell me, would you have lowered your flag if you were in my shoes?
Since then, I have been reading 3-4 books a month. My experience with amazon kindle has been excellent. There are so many books I have found which are not necessarily in the top 10, but certainly are worthy of it.
