Hello Hive Friends, I am nadir. This is my second post after I introduced myself to this community. As I said in my introduction post I travel a lot and traveling is my hobby and also photography.
In 2018, I traveled to Albania and visited a museum and found this thing. Today I will share what is that in this picture and what purpose it is created for.
Albania is one of those countries that usually get skipped in world history classes, but it sure is interesting enough to be included. Just till 3 decades ago, it was ruled by a ruthless dictator. He cut ties even with Albania's communist allies for them not being 'real" communists, successfully isolating the nation from the rest of the world. For anyone who escaped the country, he threw 3 generations of their family into prison. He built over 170,000 nuclear bunkers across Albania out of his irrational paranoia that other countries were trying to bomb Albania. He also attempted to create gas-masks like the one pictured for every person in the country. The regime's headquarters were located in this massive bunker on the outskirts of Tirana. Today this place serves as a museum that takes you through the plights of Albanians. Outside of a few spots in Poland, this is probably the eeriest place I've ever been to.
