Hey everybody, it's me NomnomNoodle. Today I'm back to tell you more about my Hokkaido Trip and a little bit more about myself. So I come up with the idea of telling you guys one fact about me that related to my post.
Click here for my first post about Hokkaido
The fact of the post : I am Thai, I was born here and obviously raised and heavily influenced by Asian cultures. (So you know all those stand-up comedy that jokes about Asian cultures and parents, are basically the story of my life) Like I said in the last post, I go travel a lot in and out Thailand. I travelled mostly in Asia, well one reason is that it's easy to go, distance-wise and budget-wise but the more important reason is that around here is it's never boring. There's always something to go see and learn. To me Asia is so colorful and so different in every places and I love to learn more about it.
Best way to learn about the places is through the local museums, to see what is their specialty and uniqueness. Just like this first museum we went to. The museum is called "The Furano Cheese Factory (富良野チーズ工房, Furano Cheese Kōbō)". Interestingly, Furano is famous for their agriculture like cow farming to make the local cheese Wine Cheddar Cheese, cheese that is mixed with the Furano red wine.
That's my mom trying to milk the cow. The first thing we saw when we walked inside.
There's installation for the visitors to read about cheese. Which cheese and where it famously comes from.
There's Jerry but no Tom..
The Building has glass windows all around it, so you can sit on this cow bench and look outside to the snow.
I think the best part of this museum is that they have interactive experience to go in the cheese room and have a workshop to actually make them. Unfortunately that day that we went, the workshop were off. (I think because of the snow) So I was a little sad that I didn't get to make some cheese, still I got pictures of the room.
How to - in cute comic style.
Before we left I took the picture of the map and see that other than the cheese building, they also have Pizza and Ice milk factory too. But we didn't make it there because we need to go to the next museum. "Furano Winery"
This Furano Winery has been making wine since 1972. There are still some of the first wine bottle that they made and hasn't been open yet. Here are some pics from inside. Started from the sample room in the basement.
There's a sign in the sample room saying "We use our original product shelf since our winery establishment. We keep each bottle for inspection of bottling quality. Can you find the bottle that made in your birth year? Our basement would keep perfect temperature and humidity. ..."
So we were competing against each other and trying to find our birth year from the shelf that looks kinda like this.
but the whole wall of those bottles in the shelves..
These are supposed to be opened in the year 2024.
And these in 2104! I guess my great-grand children could drink them.
After the sample room, we went back to the surface to the store to test some wine and buy some souvenirs.
No need to tell you guys that we went back to the hotel with a bottle to warm ourselves for this weather.
So these were the 2 Museum that I wanna tell you guys about. I'd recommend you to go and learn more about Furano through these experiences and if you lucky to get to do the workshop, please share and let me know too!
Thank you so much, everybodyyy :)
Khob kun kha (Thanks in Thai)
