We Are On A Roll, Folks
It's been an astonishingly good couple of days for Hive. We got on two new exchanges - Huobi and MXC, and very quickly rose in the ranks on CoinGecko to the mid 30s! The trading volume on Huobi alone over the past 24 hours has been unbelievable. Right now as I write this, we are showing a 24 hour trading volume of $40,294,137.
Just consider that a few short days ago the average daily volume for all exchanges together was in the 40k range. Now, of course there is an airdrop going to happen on Huobi in a few days for people holding large amounts of Hive on the exchange, so this is certainly having an effect on the buying. We will probably see some selling after that happens.
However, I think there is more to it than that. Getting listed on another huge exchange is a big deal and the word is getting out there that Hive is ready for prime time. For the first time in a few years I am finally getting the feeling again that we could find ourselves where we belong; as a top 10 Cryptocurrency.
Less Talk, More Action
Something that has really been inspiring me since Hive launched has been the level of effort that is being put into development. For the longest time, all we heard on that other blockchain was how this and that was coming, but it more often than not felt like empty promises. I was really beginning to regret my investment.
I think now it is more important than ever to show our support and get the word out about Hive. It is not exactly a household name! I also think that it's important that we try to make a better effort to support quality content - especially if we have a sizable stake.
When new people come here, we don't want them to see a big scammy looking pile of rubbish like I saw when I first signed up back in early 2017. We have a responsibility to curate in a way that is beneficial to longevity of the platform.
Obviously, people are free to do whatever they want with their stake. However, keep in mind that when you up-vote that meme to $20 or more, there is a chance that this is what people will see when they are decided to join Hive or not. Just something to think about!
