Hello Players!
So all you players playing Splinterlands and the non-players wondering what to do, here is my advice – Splinterlands players take a look at this rule and non-players, start playing Splinterlands. 😊
On a serious note, non-players, you all are missing out on one heck of a game on the blockchain. Read the next section to find out why. Anyway, this post was supposed to be for the players and let me explain what will be covered.
More often than not, there is the nagging question of whether to use your monsters with resurrect ability when the monsters lose healing abilities rule is in play. Why? Because when the monsters lose healing ability rule is in play, no healing works, or does it?
For those interested in finding out what happens to the resurrect ability, read on.
But before we get into discussing the ability, let’s take a minute out to explain Splinterlands – The Game for newbies and non-players.
What Game is Splinterlands?
Well, it is one of the earliest blockchain-based collectible games. Though I started playing the game quite late, on hindsight, I should have had got going early. Anyway, no need to despair, there is so many opportunities no matter when you start.
Splinterlands is a digital card game which allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent and even earn on the cards. It is one of the most generous games that I have seen where cards, potions, Dark Energy Crystals (DEC. Cryptocurrency) are given out every day to thousands of players for just playing and winning daily quests. And there are tournaments or guilds that you can join.
Just to give you an idea of few of the uber-expensive cards, take a look at this recent purchase of Prince Julian at USD 3500.

Did you go to the link and see for yourself? I hope you did. And I hope that gives an overview of the game. I just love the game, and those interested can go to Splinterlands’ site and join. If you want a link to join, I will leave one at the end of the article which you can use.

The Resurrect Ability
Now, the resurrect ability is something that the monsters have as much as few summoners have. So, in this article, we will be looking at the resurrect ability of monsters and not summoners.
So, what is it? Do monsters with resurrect ability continue to keep their ability even under the monster lose all healing rule. Well, the answer is yess. But why is that? I can only guess the answer.
Resurrect is one ability which, unlike other abilities, can only be used once by the monster. The monsters can use all other abilities all through the battle. Maybe, that is one of the reasons why the monsters with resurrect ability continue to hold the ability.
But you want proof, don’t you? So, let’s get on to a battle and see it for ourselves.
Show Me The Game
Here we look at a game where the monsters lose healing abilities rule is in play, and we choose one monster with the resurrect ability. Here’s how the face-off screen looks like.
My monsters are under the “OIVAS” player name and let’s get to know the monsters that I have chosen. Needless to say, this is a ‘monsters lose healing ability’ and ‘ranged attack monsters can be used in the first position’ rule game.
Here are my monsters:
POSITION 1: CLAY GOLEM
I chose the Clay Golem for its uber-cool attack value of three and its ability to take reduced magic attacks.
POSITION 2: HIGH PRIEST DARIUS
Here is our real monster to test. The High Priest has the resurrect ability and a magic monster. While I can’t deny that we get that super-good magic attack of value three, the idea of the battle still stays to check out the resurrect ability.
POSITION 3 TO 6: RANGED ATTACKERS AND FURIOUS CHICKEN
Since the rule is also about ranged attackers being used in the first position, the next three monsters are ranged attackers. The choice is pretty obvious for the attack value. The Evangelist for the attack value of three, the Lone Boatman for the attack value of two, and the Herbalist at attack value of one are the monsters in the lineup.
And the Furious Chicken for being the place-filler and for serving the purpose of wasting one of the attacks of the enemy lineup.
Now, to the battle.
My Clay Golem Bears the Brunt
As the battle begins, there is a barrage of attacks on my Clay Golem and High Priest. For a second I wonder if the Priest is going to go before the Golem, but the Golem is the first one to perish.
See that? So, the Golem goes, but what happens after that?
Take a look.
High Priest in Action
And just when we thought that the Golem was gone for good, the High Priest does bring it back.
That’s the High Priest swinging into action and what happens next?
Yeah, the Golem comes back. So, the resurrect function works even with monsters lose healing ability rule. Well, whaddaya know?
That’s About the Exciting Part of the Game
Well, for me, that’s where the luck ended. The opposition ran through my lineup in no time and here’s how it looked just before the inevitable.
Not bad, but I at least got to figure out about the Resurrect ability. That’s worth it, isn’t it?
Or is it me just making me feel good for the loss? Hah! 😊
So, That’s It
So, now you know that the Resurrect ability works despite the monsters lose healing ability rule. However, remember this is the resurrect ability of a single monster. The resurrect ability of a summoner is a totally different thing and I will come up with a write up on that too.
Hope you enjoyed learning something new. Try it out and win some battles!
