I type this with giggles like a 6-year-old because that’s exactly how I feel on the inside.
Thursday morning, my phone rang. The next line I heard was my friend’s,
“Hey Omosefe, we plan to chill at La Campagne over the weekend, and we would really love for you to join us. Besides, you could use the break”.
As expected, I turned down the invite based on the well-known fact that I hardly ever step out of my house besides work, church, or necessary errands. Even though I had promised myself that I would do better with regards to going out more, I still said NO.
I finally agreed to go because my friends wouldn't let me be, Ola even offered to buy me a beach dress if I needed him to. Since my coconut head wouldn’t budge, they threatened to block me everywhere. Besides, I had always wanted to visit La Campagne Tropicana, but I never did. Now, I’m so glad I did!
La Campagne Tropicana is a beautiful resort located in Lagos, Nigeria. The first thing I noticed from the entrance was the theme, the representation of Africa in the structure, design, and general outlook. A complete beauty to behold.
We started off by taking pictures, next we headed to the reception to make payment. Compared to a few other beaches I know where entry is either free or for #1,000 only, here the entry fee was #5,500 per head. So, if you want to go to La Campagne, especially as a group, I highly recommend having your funds intact.
Our food packs were checked, because, according to them, there are restrictions to the quantity of food or drinks a group is allowed to go in with. After undergoing the necessary procedures, A tour bus, courtesy of the resort took us all the way in. The trees, the art, the scenery were really beautiful.
I believe these pictures would do more justice to all I’ve been typing. You can thank me later.

More pictures as promised,
The next stop was the dock. The plan was to go on a boat cruise, but we aborted the plan when we were told we’d have to pay about #22,000 for just 10 minutes.
10 minutes? Heck, we needed that boat for one hour which would amount to #220,000. We decided to go swimming instead. Besides, 3 out of 9 of us complained about being terribly aquaphobic, plus, that wasn’t part of the budget in any way.
The Pool- this is one out of several
Someone had asked if I went for a water baptism because of how fully clothed I was😁. I honestly had no plans to swim, so do not ask me how I got in there.
Afterward, we went back to the beachside to drink, dance- I did twerk up a storm, lol, and of course take more pictures. I would share all of these pictures with you here, but I can’t, considering the other people in the picture, for privacy reasons.
For good reasons, the beach has remained my favorite place. The fresh cool breeze, the feel of wet sand between my toes, the sound of the wind, the waves, the peace, everything gets to me. Absolutely everything. The truth is, I wouldn’t mind a beach proposal either.
If you ever want to visit this resort, here are a few recommendations from me;
Be sure to spend the night before on the Island(Lekki, Ajah and its environs) like we did- a complete story for another day.
The resort closes at 6pm, so for a full experience, you can decide to chill at their inlets.
Go with enough money, because you don’t exactly get the cheapest food there too.
Leave early enough if you do not plan to spend the night because the route to Ajah from the resort is always packed up.
Go with your swimming trunk, do not be like me. Also, the pool is completely free, so swim for as long as you like.If you’re going to take an uber, your money definitely has to be speaking the right language.
Even if you have all the money you need, also buy yourself a few things to eat snd drink there.
Have crazy fun!
The journey back home wasn’t as smooth as we hoped. Trust Lagos traffic to show us pepper. We spent over 6 hours getting home. I was exhausted to the core of my being, but it was all worth it in the end.
Lastly, to my friends who refused to entertain a NO from me this time, thank you for the best weekend of my life yet.
This is one experience I wouldn’t forget in a hurry. It is safe to say I had the time of my life. And, there’s certainly no turning down invites henceforth, especially to the beach.
PS: All the pictures were taken by me. Feel free to call me 'Photographer Extraordinaire"😁
PEACE!
