Let me share with you a short photo-report of hike across Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina (highlands) in Czechia back in May 27th. This report covers first day of this multi-day expedition. Detailed itinerary can be found at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!
Fauna
While on forest trail, I hear odd sounds, like peeping. So I follow the source. Well, here is the source: spooked young roe deer. Its mum popped out I guess. So I better leave it there as it seems to be in good shape (not injured).
Caught in the act!
A caterpillar on the asphalt road.
A contended cow.
Tadpoles in the puddle.
Flora
The South Moravian region is well-known for its wild orchids. Here are a few. I simply love these protected flowers!
Orchid.
Orchid.
Columbine, new to me...
Vachalka. Small protected area where you can find fir/beech trees with age of two centuries.
Landsape
Blooming meadow somewhere above Vsetín city.
Amazing view from this spot, not far from peak Cáb (841m a.s.l.).
Almost same spot, splendid view.
On the mountain ridge. In the background, Velký Javorník (918m) and Radhošť (1129m).
Mountain Tanečnice (912m). From this place, you can see other three
significant peaks. Don't you believe me? Keep reading then.
If you use binoculars, you can see Radhošť with communications tower, chapel and the chalet Radegast.
In the distant, you can see Lysá hora with communications tower.
Finally, Velký Javorník with a lookout tower.
Refreshment
A chalet called Vsacký Cáb. You can have there local treat: Portáš beer (brewed in close town Zašová) and soup (valašská kyselica).
When you get to your destination in one peace, you start out exploration of the place. Karolinka is the name of the village. This is what I find there, green Easter beer.
Another one found, I love that cap :-D
Miscellaneous
Boots check: PASSED. Yes, this hike took place after some rainy day(s).
Itinerary; elevation profile ~900 ⇅.
The shots were unintentionally untouched (without any post-processing). See you on the trail ;-)
