We introduce ourselves, we are Gabriel Lozano (although my pseudonym is Ostor) and Levi Gil, two young Venezuelan poets who make life and find a place for art in the chaotic situation of the city of merida; within the socio-cultural context of the last two decades we have built our hurries but passionate and necessary poetry, trying to build the literary current of neocriollismo, basing ourselves on the works of Venezuelan authors and intellectuals such as Arturo Uslar Pietri, Andres Eloy Blanco, Romulo Gallegos and Manuel Vicente Romero Garcia, who left in us an inspiring furor that encourages us to scrutinize the culture of our country and our reality, To understand it, love it, hate it, live it and portray it with magical verses but sincere, as raw as real and as alien as own.
Neocriollismo seeks to create an imaginary from the daily process of an entire country unraveling inequalities and how members of our current society act, discovering the idiosyncrasy of contemporary Venezuelan; Worrying about the eloquence of the portrait, the sweetness of the rhymes and the commitment to reality.
Already with a book published "anthology sober poetics to survive a dystopian reality", we seek to continue creating and compiling poems, stories and even novels that move humanity and enrich much more this new literary current.
