Peace will be ours
Perhaps somewhere in our country a child, a young man, the future of our society will be wondering the concrete meaning of the wonderful, perfect, dreamt of, and for some the utopian word called peace. Since we were little, we have been taught to handle a very senseless concept of the word; We could ask any child what it means, and perhaps he would respond with what his parents probably told him or he has taken it for granted: "you are at peace when there is no war." This idea is the simplest idea anyone can have, but have we asked ourselves the question of its overall meaning? We know very well that peace is the absence of war, however: is peace just that? Does it have any other sense or meaning?
One of the many songs in "La Vida Boheme" written by Henry D 'Arthenay is "Nicaragua," which talks about a country that died as a result of various factors including corruption and war. In this work of art we can hear a curious phrase about peace and war: "' without war there is no peace, 'a man said to me,' without blood there is no change, 'I shouted passionately." If we pay attention we can draw many conclusions and ideas about the concrete meaning of what peace is; "Without war there is no peace" what does that sound like to us? I am particularly reminded of the studies of physics around light and darkness, according to physics darkness is simply the absence of light, so with this idea we can conclude that peace is the absence of war or is war the absence of peace?
The bible tells us the famous story of Adam and eve who were expelled from the 'peace' of the garden of Eden for disobeying their god as a result of being tempted by evil; They themselves, guided by their natural instincts of rebellion, disturbed their so-called peace. Moving forward a little bit in history man has always faced wars against himself and against others, another biblical example could be the death of Abel at the hands of his brother Cain, and like this we can find many other tales in which man himself damages everything in his path and It destroys your tranquility. We were made in the image and likeness of god, if we are by nature destructive beings and with degrees of pride, does god also have a certain sense of war? If we look at other passages Yahveh has supported his people in situations of war for the benefit of his people (all with their due justification) as well as in other religions and cultures asking the god they venerate to help them in battles. The most perfect images we have as an example have made allegories of war and have given their support to the destruction of men with other men, and since we are his children and were made in his image and likeness we by nature have the destructive gene of war and unrest, we always end up in disputes and rivalries with our own brothers. Is this our fault? We were created like this, regardless of whether it was a supreme being or the explosion of molecules responsible for our existence.
Taking into account that in ourselves inhabits war and unrest we could raise the question of whether peace is the absence of war or war is the absence of peace, but then... which came first? War or peace? If in the beginning there was nothing, was it peace? And if so, do we know peace? Very well peace can be like the happiness described by some writer "happiness is something you don't know you had until you left". Assuming so, have we been at peace? And among other unknowns, what is peace? I possess a somewhat crazy and possibly mistaken concept that it is a state of tranquility and perfect harmony produced by the ecstasy that produces us relaxation, in this case we can find peace in some note of a song, in a physical activity, reading or simply contemplating the soul of a loved person looking it in the eyes; All this could bring us peace. So are we capable of achieving peace? Indeed, we could get rid of our destructive gene that has plagued our race for years, if we have been able to evolve over time in so many ways why can't we do it with this one?
If we propose it, we can arrive at grandiose and highly utopian things, such as the communist form of government, which at this moment does not work and will not work because we have not mentally evolved for it, although if we get rid of absolutism and slavery, why can't we reach the state in which everyone belongs to everyone and nothing belongs to anyone? Perfection, so let's strive to change our society little by little, small actions bring great repercussions, let's make our country a better place to raise the future of humanity and perhaps the generation that will achieve the perfect state system. And let the youth make an effort to build what they want to be for the better. We can all make total peace, stop blaming governments and religions that oppose us, say what we want and be brothers and friends of all. Let nothing separate us. The Venezuelan culture despite the distinction of social classes has a point of union in which all peoples meet and become one with the other, this is possible thanks to our wonderful culture and incredible brotherhood. For the decade in which we live we suffer from many adversities and uneasiness, but the beauty of it is that we all suffer them, that unites us.
Let us work on what we want to be, on building peace and making it an absence of war. We do not want to end up like the mythological people of Atlantis who sank and ended up extinct, let's leave the destruction and implement the construction. We don't spit on the ground, because when we do we spit on ourselves. Let's make it possible and stop expecting the high authorities to make a relevant change, if we want a real change we simply have to walk differently and all this can be based on manners and a simple "good morning" that can draw a smile on a face that is awake from a very early age and has risen to fulfill its role in society. Let us do everything possible to have a good tomorrow and above all let us learn from our history because if we keep making the same mistakes there will never be a way to progress.
How will life be better? It's all in us and in the actions we can make concrete.
Let us strive for peace.
