Temperatures ranging between 30-45 degrees Celsius countrywide. 86-104 Fahrenheit!
This post is also for #wednesdaywalk hosted by
So you will understand that due to the severe heat, I could only do a short walk in the garden today.
Plus I have the tendency to get little very itchy hives on my skin in the direct sunlight.
Most of my shots were concentrated on the bird bath, but to avoid boredom, I also threw in a few other photos taken today.
Join me on the walk.
This tamer lion (cat) is widely kept in the shade by her owner, as the sun is very bright!
Did I say bird bath? Well no as look how this squirrel enjoys a cold water drink in the heat!
Watching me watching you hahaha!
Now there's a bird (Rock Pigeon) in the birdbath as it should be and Squirry taking a bite to eat!
Two ladies discussing the weather conditions here. A rock pigeon and a Ringneck dove!
Even the moon today looked very bleak in the hot conditions!
A little Cape White eye considering taking a dive into the water, but she was scared away!
Simply because Mr and Mrs Robin arrived, you can barely see Mrs. Robin inside the bath!
Here is a better look at the Robin couple. Throughout the day one of us pops out to fill the bath with cold water!
Two doves here on the weightwatcher's program sweating themselves in nature's sauna!
This is our sign that it is very hot outside. A squirrel laying flat on its stomach!
Don't believe me? Okay, here is another one!
And this one is so hot that he doesn't care who is behind him!
Finally, one quick dragonfly shot and I went back inside.
Can you believe that even with a shirt on, the sun on one's back feels like it's burning you right through the shirt.
Between 6 and 8 o'clock in the early evening is the best time to be outside, as then the house feels like an oven inside.
At night it is a mission to fall asleep and I frequently wake up sweating.
They say that the month of February is the hottest month and I totally agree as even the air that one breathes in is hot.
The next few days will be 27, 26, 30 and of course we are waiting for the 40 degrees!
Inland, things are even worse and Africa has always been hot, but it seems that just as the rain, the heat is also increasing. They tell me that Norway's winters are getting shorter and warmer and as we live at the bottom end of the cold Atlantic ocean, we will always get the worst of it. Should it ever become the hot Atlantic ocean we will certainly struggle to survive here. It seems also that a degree of confusion reigns, as some say it's global warming and others disagree. But whatever it is, it cannot be good.
Let's hope that we can all start to take better care of the planet.
Note: Only the first photo is not my own and it is duly cited. All other photos and words are my own and the photos are unedited and only cropped for uploading purposes.
We hope that you have enjoyed the walk and thank you for visiting a blog by
