I don't know what he is doing in that bucket of fish, but the birds know hahahah!
Not much that I know about sea fishing, as the last time that I tried was in the 1980s.
But as usual new techniques were developed and nowadays the hobby fishermen has it all at their fingertips. Have a look at Mrs. Google to see all of the latest fishing equiment. No more do they use the old rods with a Penn reel (that I still have), but it is all advanced equipment that they use.
Come have a look.
Okay, this part I do know as they are casting nets out to catch smaller fish that the fishermen use to bait their rods!
I said they, as this must be the older brother also doing his thing!
Of course the birds also knew what they were doing anf if one fish slips out of the net, a diving bird picks it up in seconds!
Were they catching bait for these two guys who were fishing out there in the deep?
Strong winds are still with us, as you can see the waves battering the rocks!
Just to show you hpw far they were in, a good distance and they seemed very experienced!
No fishermen on the pier in this wind and the birds have reclaimed the old historical jetty!
A closer look shows that the birds were mostly cormorants with a few other species at the end of the jetty!
Here the bird that was turning in the previous picture was coming over!
Some history of the Jetty; Built in 1933!
"In 1933, Murray and Stewart was awarded the contract to construct a new fishing harbour. Employing local labourers, they set to work
A series of large, square, Jarrah timber logs – of which one end was sharpened – were driven into the seabed with a 2500kg electrical hammer. This became the foundation for the 70m-long, 2.5m-wide walkway with its large (7.5m x 9m) platform where the fishermen could unload and display their treasures from the deep".

Finally, no sea fishing post will be great without one of the Kelp Gulls in light!
