A moment in the winter sun with my family this morning!
A lesson awaits for all of us here!
As usual, I had my camera with me and I took some shots in the garden during our talks. Some butterflies visited and other little animals pitched up to make our short period in the garden complete.
But something drew my attention and a thought came to my mind!
Come and find out what message I received!
Not a very pretty sight when these shells are laying amongst the rocks on the beach.
We are also not very pretty when we wake up in the mornings and when we blend in with all of the other people on earth!
But turn these same shells upside down and what do you see?
The hidden beauty within each of them!
The same beauty that resides within each of us!
They appear hard and ugly on the outside to protect themselves from predators and their colors on the outside were designed to blend in with the rocks.
Just so do many of us live. We cultivate a hard exterior to prevent ourselves from getting hurt.
Yet, the butterfly who has many enemies is defenceless, yet it fearlessly lives the life that it was designed for!
It never hides away, or gives up on life!
Even the smallest butterfly is out there every day, fearlessly exposing itself as it goes about in its life!
The squirrel here shows that it takes effort to get what we want in life. Balance, courage and perseverance.
So what am I saying here?
"If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome".
Michael Jordan Source
The butterfly, squirrel or the shells don't worry about what anyone else is going to think about them. Their only concern is to lead their own lives and to do the best that they can.
Every day!
Yes indeed, our lives can become a song of gratitude.
If only we would release the dammed up torrent of beauty within ourselves.
Finally, we can slake the thirst of our desires by simply becoming our natural selves. No more masks, arguments or fears, no more wasting valuable time trying to impress others or striving for popularity. Only to live our lives as they were meant to be!
Yes, we are communal beings, longing for acceptance and belonging, but we are never going to reach such a status if we barricade ourselves through fear and indecision, or anxieties.
We simply have to learn how to allow our inner beauty to flow.
It will draw others like a butterfly to a flower, or like a squirrel to a ripe nut 😄
Remember, kindness costs nothing and it can change a life!
And That's All Folks!
