Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
My name is Petar (Croatian version of the name Peter), and I live in Croatia, in its capital town Zagreb (born and raised here).
For those who don't know, Croatia is a beautiful Mediterranean country located in southeast Europe. I highly recommend you visiting our seaside, as it is full of amazing islands and beaches.
I was born in early 80s and I got my first PC when I was 9 or 10 years old. It was an Intel 386 (here in Croatia we were always a bit behind the rest of the world) and instantly it was a love at first sight. From that moment on, I was all into computers and everything related to them. First it was gaming, after that programming and now world of crypto and NFTs.
I'm 40 years old, happily married to the most beautiful woman in the world and we have 5 amazing children ❤️ - 2 girls and 3 boys (oldest is 9 y/o and youngest one is a newborn, just 2 weeks old). So, as you can imagine, its a bit hectic in our house. I'm surprised that I find time in a day to sit in front of the computer and write a blog post (this one I wrote in span of several days 😆).
I finished University of Electric Engineering and Computer Science here in Zagreb, and I'm a computer engineer by profession, more precisely software developer and I work as IT manager is a small company in Zagreb.
My whole life I've been a passionate gamer, playing all sorts of PC games, from arcade ones (anyone remembers Golden Axe?), FPS (Call of Duty, Battlefield), strategy (Starcraft, Warcraft, Warhammer 40k), MMORPG (World of Warcraft), etc.
But ever since I got kids I couldn't spare the time to sit in front of the computer for couple of hours to play games, so I turned to mobile games, that are more flexible to when you're gonna play and for how long.
My first introduction to world of cryptocurrencies was early 2013 when I bought my first Bitcoin and Litecoin. I didn't do much with it, I just let it sit there for couple of years until I started doing some occasional trading few years back.
And now comes year 2022, my 2 passions brought together - gaming and computer science in form of NFT gaming. I read an article about most popular NFT games and of course Splinterlands was on top of that list, so I gave it a try and fell in love in the whole concept of NFT gaming. Soon after that I started playing Rising Star and I would probably play a lot more other games if I only had the time.
Along the way I started reading hive blogs that introduced me to the hive community and helped me grasp the whole concept of hive blogging and NFTs much easier so I decided to give it a try.
I did a few blog posts, before a friend told me I should do an introduction post, so here it is - long overdue.
