Medieval Travel, presents traditions from a time when everything was different. Medieval times left architectural and historical marks on the society that we feel like remembering, and that is what is done every year in Santa Maria da Feira for several days when the population and the city itself are transformed into the medieval village they once were.
The Santa Maria da Feira Castle, unique in the country with its four towers, sets the tone for this medieval trip that lasts for 11 days and promises daily entertainment, lots of food, drink, unique shows, historical recreations and markets inspired by the times medieval.
Here, nothing is left to chance, from clothes to food, from markets to parades, from music to battles, everything recreates medieval times and there is no space for XXI century materials and traditions.
All the splendor of the historic center is highlighted by the Medieval Journey and the whole city dresses proudly with medieval flags at the windows. Music and dance, along with food and drink, are part of the leisure moments of the inhabitants of the medieval village.
If you want to feel this environment from other times, I assure you that even observing only the environment in this enclosure you will feel part of a past and unknown time. Time travel, no doubt!
Every year in August, Santa Maria da Feira is once again a medieval village.
