Trip to Portugal - Montalegre

In the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, this region offers stunning landscapes, in which Nature still retains all its charm.

The village of Montalegre is dominated by the castle built in XIII on the remains of an older fortification, which demonstrates the importance of this place as a strategic point of defense of the territory.

The entire municipality of Montalegre breathes this historic and picturesque environment, various manor houses scattered throughout the region, which have been so well maintained, many of them today converted into accommodation units quality tourism.

A region with a strong traditional character, it retains its typical handicraft made of wooden pieces and embroidered linen and lace, and a renowned gastronomy, especially with regard to the production of sausages and ham, being the Feira do Fumeiro held annually in January, the ideal opportunity to purchase these delicacies.
