From the past few months, I was thinking to purchase an orchid plant and was looking for the desire orchid plant. I love orchids but was very confused about how to take care of it. In Ukraine, orchids are very popular but expensive as well. People here purchase orchids and love them as a part of their home.
I have seen orchids mostly in Singapore and Thailand. Orchids are considered as their national flower as well and they have a huge collection of orchids. Also, I have visited an orchid garden which was in Singapore. So, I had a desire to have an orchid for myself but somehow it couldn't happen.
But finally, I set up my mind and a few days back I have purchased "Phalaenopsis Orchid" or "Moth orchid", it costs me almost 20$ but of its color and availability. White orchids are cheap here but if you want exceptional orchids for yourself, you have to spend more.
The color of this orchid is light yellowish-green with the violet combination. Its color and pattern attracted me a lot and forced me to spend my 20$ into it.
Unfortunately, this orchid blooms once in a year which means the only end of winter or start of spring, the flower will be bloomed and will stay for 1-2 months almost.
After every two weeks, you have to water this orchid plant especially when you see it's drying. It doesn't need direct sunlight but you have to maintain proper lighting so a windowsill is perfect for it. After every 7-10 days, you have to water the plant and let the water completely drain. Orchid doesn't need water.
One thing you need to be more sure about the temperature as it varies from the orchids species and varieties. Please google it after purchase but Phalaenopsis Orchid needs 18 degrees celsius in the night time and 23-32 degree celsius in the daytime.
Now my corner is perfect with the peace lily plant and Moth orchid plant.
