Hello everyone, Hope you are having a good time ...
It took me a long time to pronounce these two terms and I felt like my teeth are broken already. Obviously, there is a local name and an easy name to pronounce this tourist attractions place in Kharkiv, Ukraine. I am going to represent one of the famous tourist spots in Kharkiv and will try to give as many details as possible.
Zerkalʹnaya struya (The Mirror Stream) :
One of the famous tourist spots in Kharkiv city, located in the city center and also known as Mirror Stream. This architectural monument (fountain) is under the protection of UNESCO. You can take a bus, metro or car to visit this site and enjoy this architectural structure.
This arbor and fountain is located on Sums'ka street in the Victory park in front of Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre and is considered as the one of the symbols of Kharkov, its visiting card, one of main attractions and one of the seven wonders of the city. source.
It was built-in 1947 and the architect was Korzh, history says that this fountain was built in honor of the Victory in World War II. This fountain is unique but many people are not aware of its historical importance. This fountain is one of the best architectural structures in Kharkiv city and represents the love of a soviet high ranking officer.
In this post, I am going to share different moments of this spot. Summer, winter, the night view is completely different from one another. Summer days are joyful, night views are colorful and winter is snowy gloomy.
This Mirror stream is located in such a place where you can explore the opera house of Kharkiv, Shevchenko park, and Mironositska church.
As I have already mentioned that this structure is listed in the UNESCO encyclopedia. Behind the fountain, there is a beautiful small park to explore. You can take a walk, spend time and explore nature.
Structure height is almost 50 feet with beautiful plaza and landscape. Many people come here to take pictures on different occasions. The entire structure stands with 4 columns and a shrine. You can explore four different picturesque views from there.
Every month I go there, spend some time there. I love the location and environment there plus on weekend, this place becomes more lively.
Khram Svyatogo Zhon-Myronosytska Cathedral (Mironositska church) :
Behind the Mirror Stream, there is a beautiful orthodox church which is known as "Mironositska church". It's hard to pronounce the name but this is a beautiful cathedral. Every Sunday people go there for prayer.
Many people call it the Temple of The Myrrh-Bearers or Church of the Holy Myrrh-Bearers, which represents byzantine architecture and Russian Orthodox cathedral. If you wanna know more about Myrrh, you can go here.
This cathedral first constructed on August 23, 2015, and previously there was another temple. This beautiful Byzantine architectural structure will blow away your mind. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to explore inside because it was closed then. Golden domes are shiny and reflect the sun-rays and create a golden moment.
This cathedral is a nine-storied structure and the upper flood is smaller than others. The ground floor is for prayer and honestly speaking I didn't find proper information about this cathedral, I mean genuine information.
The temple was built on the site of the old Mironositsky temple, destroyed in 1930 by the Bolsheviks. Consecrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine.
History says, that this orthodox church existed in Kharkiv from the end of the 17th century to the 30s. The temple, named after the Myrrh-bearer women, located opposite the modern building of the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet Theater behind the Zerkalnaya Struya at the site of Victory Square. source.
The Temple has been rebuilt several times and situated in the heart of the city.
The Construction of a new nine-storied church in the style of Ukrainian Baroque began in September 2013, five years after the symbolic laying. Later opened on August 22, 2015.
I highly recommend exploring this stunning beautiful architectural-historical importance and your day will be made if you are planning to explore Kharkiv city.
