I wont deny that sweet sop or custard apple is my favorite fruit. It's soft and sweet, just like ice cream 😂 . So, I am so happy to know that as I stay in the village at the moment, it's the custard apple fruit season.
There are two custard apple plants in the house yard. All full of fruits. I have to race with birds and ants to get the custard apple. Because of their sweet taste, ants and birds like the custard apple.
Today was my lucky day. I managed to pick up some custard apples which just about to get ripe. After I picked them from the tree, I stored in a shelf in the kitchen for eight hours, until they perfectly ripe.
Benefit of Custard Apple for Health
Based on some readings that I did, custard apple have a lot nutrition for health benefit. A serikaya or sweet sop fruit contain of 60-100 calorie and various nutrition such as carbohidrate, protein, fiber, vitamin B and C. It also contained mineral such as calcium, kalium, phosphorus, potassium and iron.
And the benefit of sweet sop for our health are: to help with digestive system, to improve body immune system, lowering the risk of cancer since it contain anti oxidant. It also help with blood hypertension, and to regulate blood sugar level.
This was not perfectly ripe yet, and it has to be picked up before it get rotten.
To open it, just crack it. It's very easy as it is quite soft.
