Recently, I took part in my brother's small business as a volunteer. The business is about Cactus and he and his friend initiated this together. They are selling Cactus pots for customers who are willing to buy cacti as table decor and gifts. Early I thought it will be a very easy game, but later I realized how much effort it needs.
I also join their business after work. I am not paid but I really involved in this to spend quality time out of the computer.
There are some major responsibilities assigned to me. First, I am working on the cutting section. There are plenty of things to cut to keep the packaging good. It includes tags and thank you cards. Usually, we print and cut lots of cards at once so that we can use them when needed.
Then I have assigned to do the card designs that need. We don't do crafts but we simply give printed cards as per customers' requests. I spend time designing them as customers want and also add additional decorations to make it colorful. Eventhough this takes some time and my resource, I really enjoy this. I always wanted to do this kind of thing but never got an opportunity until my brother start this business.
I provide all other supports when he needs for his business. Eventhough the business is not extremely profitable, I encourage them to do better and also I am happy about them as they are doing a great job. They put a huge effort to find plants and materials as well as to make things more quality. These days they are struggling a lot because delivery chargers are very high. Hope they will figure out something soon.
