My luck has been exhausted. Just as I am about to finish my quarantine Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Hyogo are going into partial lockdown.

Restaurants (that serve alcohol), malls and events(like gem and mineral shows) are to be closed/cancelled. This is pretty devastating. We have a show right now in Osaka and most likely the last day, tomorrow, will be cancelled. Then our show on the 11th in Tokyo will also most likely be cancelled. We've been preparing for these for months and just like that, the government says "Sucks to be you!".
All of this is happening because there are over 1000 cases a day in Osaka and Tokyo's cases are rising to just below 1000 daily. Japan hasn't done this drastic of a move since last spring when they did the same thing.
Supposedly the variant going around is more infectious and so they need to be extra precautious for the Olympics. I think they are only delaying the inevitable though. The virus is going to makes it's way through the population no matter what. Every time you lockdown you just prolong the illness.
Of course they still do not recommend doing anything to boost your immune system like sunlight, vitamins D, C & zinc. Maybe add some quercetin. All of the supplements I have been taking daily since summer of last year while traveling all over Japan & the US. I haven't gotten COVID and neither has anyone in my family.
The world is destroying the futures of the young to prolong the lives of the very old. As parents we sacrifice for our children, I would never ask them to sacrifice their future for me over a virus with a 98% survival rate.
The silly thing about all of this is I can go to next door Kanagawa prefecture, literally a few miles from my house, and do everything there I can't do in Tokyo. I guess I'm gonna be spending a lot of time in Enoshima, Yokohama and Kawasaki...
