I have taken some days off with the family and we have decided to go to the south of France where we visited Carcassone and then drove to the French Pyrenees for a few days before driving to Toulouse to visit the city. As in any other tourist area, there are plenty of souvenir stores, I usually do not like most of the stuff in those places but thought this t-shirt was worth s shot.
The Citadelle of Carcassone was declared Unesco World Monument a few years ago. Walking through the tiny streets makes you feel as if you are living in the middle age, it is absolutely amazing. We also walked around the city and stopped by the Midi Channel river station. You can rent a boat and follow the river from the Mediterranean coast until the city of Toulouse so that may be something to do in the future.
We had lunch in one of the restaurants and left for a tiny little village where we are spending a few days. During the trip we crossed the wine area around the city of Limoux, it was plenty of hills ready to have their grapes harvested to produce wine.
We will definitely taste some of the local wines during the trip.
