Dear Hivers,
As soon as I joined Hive, I immediately asked a lot of questions.
One of them was:
What is the secret to success on Hive?
Why did I ask this question? There are several simple reasons.
First, we have members who have been around for 3-4 years. They are the heroes who have stayed longer than most.
Second, why not learn from them?
Because these heroes — these members — have invested hundreds and thousands of hours contributing and supporting the platform. They know what most don't.
And it really boils down to some simple secrets worth knowing. You pick them up. Remember them. And implement them the next time.
Both old and new users can glance through these secrets to draw inspiration and continue their journey on Hive.
So what’s the secret to success?
#1: Patience.
People expect to be successful on Hive in a few days or weeks. It has taken years to get where I am. I have also invested thousands of dollars and countless hours of time into the blockchain and community.
#2: You have to build your audience
Most people log in, write their post, self-vote and then vote for a few of their friends and then log off. There is a whole lot more that goes on behind the scenes.
#1 Make great content
Ultimately it boils down to honing your skills to make great content.
And secret to great content depends on who it is intended for. The concept of great is quite subjective at the end of the day and what is great content for one person might be viewed as trash by another.
#2: Enjoy making great content
What it also boils down to is make content that you enjoy making and if other people just happen to like it and upvote you for a bit of profit, even better.
#1 Write thoughtful comments
I don't know if it's a road to success but it probably wouldn't hurt: Write thoughtful comments — as if you are talking directly to the person.
#2: Build relationship
A comment that responds to the post and poster and builds a relationship is the key. Something that shows you are interested in the topic and have something to add or say to the person is crucial to build a good relationship.
Secret to success is:
- Be authentic.
- Join the conversation.
- Be open.
- Listen and find your niche.
So there you have it...
A simple and easy way to know what it really takes to succeed on a platform like Hive.
To me, these are not merely suggestions and advices.These are brutal truth.
Each one of them holds the key to success — in and outside of Hive. If you think about it... and summarise:
- You have to walk with patience
- You have to know your audience
- You have to make great content
- You have to write thoughtful comments
- You have to join the conversation
- You have to be open
- You have to listen and find your niche
- You have to be authentic
You can see it, right? It is refreshing to go through them. Pick what you can. Think about it. And implement it the next time.
