One of my oldest knives is a kind that can opened one handed. Actually with just a flick of the thumb. These easy opening knives, also known as assisted opening knives have their utilities. Working in areas where you only have one hand free this knife is extremely useful.
Another use is when you need a quick opening knife, this can be opened in a fraction of a second. Verses a knife that you must open with your other hand while holding the knife steady.
I bought this knife in California, which is surprising as they do have strict knife laws. This knife is right on the legal edge for the size of blade it has, I believe in California you can only carry a blade up to a certain size. Not sure if Georgia is like that but it was where I bought it.
Knives like stilettos and switchblades are mostly illegal in California except for very small ones, so an easy open knife is more in the gray area and can be purchased and carried without much issue.
I really like the sound it makes while opening, has a nice mechanical sound to it. And for a twenty year old knife it has really held together well. I am glad I have held onto it all this time, being one of my first nice knifes I bought its special to me. Its a Kershaw knife made in Japan, I do not think they make this model anymore. I searched on some websites and I am unable to find another just like it. I looked on some new knife websites and on ebay and none come up with the exact one I have.
It needs a sharpening these days, and the it has a little play in the opening action so it could use a little love. Maybe one day Ill get the blade sharpened and tighten up the knife.
I do have some other knifes so maybe I will make some more videos on them and talk about each. Same with guns, though I would like to do a two part series with the guns showing them up close, and then some video of them firing out at the range. I guess I could do the same with blades, but I feel a gun video is not as good without showing it actually firing its ammo.
Are these knives allowed where you live? I would love to know.
