Few days ago, I came across a conversation on Hive post. The commnetator has a reputation of 59 and commenting on a whale's post having high stake on Hive. The conversation goes like this.
(I am hiding the names, as the post is not meant to highlight anyone)
I love the genorisity of the whale author who is quite open and happy to entertain the reply.
However, looking at the comentator prospective he seems like making himself familiar with whale and commented on the post, like "saying hello".
It seems ok untill, he made the mistake by appreciating the post content.
Actually, the post is kind of flag wars, and there is not much content written on it.
Here is a complete screenshot, with posts content.
(Again I am hiding the names, as it is not meant for highlighting anyone)
For sure, the commentator didn't read the post and hurried himself on commenting. Such conversation without "head & tail" creates a negative and bad impression not only to the author's mind but also to other readers (this case it's me) and unlikely the commentator spoil all his reputation to the author's and to other readers.
Commenting & Enagaging
When anyone step into Hive Blockchain, they need to get themselves familiar with two important aspect of the platform i.e Commenting and Engaging. Or we say engage on hive through commenting.
Commenting does not means to say hello or nice or some common generic words. However, a comments must be in a organic form that may create some meaning to the author and to the content. It must be in a way of conversation through which one get engage and involved into a healthy dicussion.
Such commenting and conversation creates a long lasting impression on everyone mind and helps to create a healthy atmosphere.
Organic Comments
Organic comments are those which make a sensible reply to the author content. Irrespective of using any generic words, putting some meaningful thought on photos, videos, content really make it special. It is good for the authors, the commentator and to the platform.
Firstly, organic comments when left on a specific post usually reflect the content that was posted. When someone leaves you a truly organic comment that relates to your photo or video you posted give a good nice feeling and makes a healthy and friendly environment.
How to make an Organic comment.
I always use to say, "there is no shortcut to stardom", eventually when you making comments, you need to make a cool and calm approach. Don't make it quick and irrelevalent that may spoil the post and your reputation. Here are few way, I noted that could help making a sensible Organic comments on Hive.
Decide the genre of your liking, it could be art, music, blogs, vlogs travel or any topic of your interest
Look out for the post relevant to your liking. You can easily do that by searching through "hashtags"
Do spend time going through the content. Make sure you readings original content and it's not palgarism.
As the post is about your area of interest too, you may relate own experince and and share your idea or prospect.
You could make it into conversation either by sharing your own idea or trying to learn something new from the authors.
These are simple and common way way to make a friendly approach to the community.
Enagagement on Hive.
If you take my words then the best way to get into Hive engagement is through taking part in Weekly "Engagement League" by "Asher" ().
Once you are part of the league, you tend to get into quality commenting, just to climb on top of the ladder. More so, there are good rewards too if you stand in top 10.
The league is very fair and well calculated through filtering out all the comments by the league participants. There are already a long list of participant, and healthy friendly cold war going on by each of them to make on to the league count. The zeal to reach on top of the table push you to make more organic comments.
Commenting, is a good way to make your presence felt on the platform. Apart from a passive source of reward generation it further helps to build your goodwill. Thereby helping you easing out the Hive journey.
Next time when you comments. Just make it more meaningful and Organic.
