I am Austrian, married, 45 years old and I live in beautiful Vienna, Austria.
Voluntary I work for an organisation called Option 2.0 (
I always liked to write. As a primary school child, I loved writing essays. They say: Do what you love and love what you do. Sounds plausible, but I haven't written like this for a long time. In my life I have hardly ever followed the advice to do what you love. Rather, I did what I thought I had to do because I wanted to be a recognized, successful member of this society.
After graduating from high school, I completed an apprenticeship in the advertising academy and then worked as a customer advisor in advertising agencies. Being able to say that you are in advertising was really cool back in the nineties - not to forget the parties! Then I switched to the marketing department at Doctors Without Borders, where I was responsible for the Austria website. There I started studying social work and then worked for the SOS Children's Village.
I spent 19 years of my life at school, in vocational training or on university, not counting all of the advanced training courses. I have always put myself under pressure to transform this into a career that always has to go uphill.
The longer I was on the job market, the more I wondered if this should really be my contribution to the world. I have never been able to accept the fact that we obviously destroy the earth and all of humanity for short-term profit. So I started looking for like-minded people and found them in 2013 in Option 2.0 - Platform for Strengthening Civil Society: http://www.opt2o.org
After I quit my regular job at SOS Children's Villages, I wanted to find out where life was going. I started driving a taxi in Vienna and I still do it every Thursday and Friday night. In addition, I have worked for various startups, one in the field of education, one in the hemp/CBD-business and one that deals with innovative mobility solutions. I am currently working on a project with the Technical University, which is about combining sharing and delivery services: https://projekte.ffg.at/projekt/3327780
My experience in voluntary work for Option 2.0 sparked the idea to start my own project. PATRON4change is a platform on which I bring "Changemakers“ together with supporters who contribute money or skills. Together they bring social/ecological change forward and act as inspirators for others. A prototype is already online: https://patron4change.org. In order to continue working on the platform I would be very happy for helping hands.

Ich möchte der Hive-Community „Hallo“ sagen. Ich freue mich, Teil dieser Bewegung zu sein, und ich werde so gut ich kann dazu beitragen, euch ein angenehmes Leseerlebnis zu bieten.
Ich bin Österreicher, verheiratet, 45 Jahre alt und wohne im wunderschönen Wien, Österreich.

Ich schreibe immer schon gerne. Bereits als Volksschulkind habe ich das Aufsatzschreiben geliebt. Es heißt, tu was du liebst und liebe was du tust. Klingt plausibel, aber ich schreibe schon lange nicht mehr regelmäßig. Den Rat zu tun was man liebt hab ich in meinem Leben so gut wie nie befolgt. Vielmehr tat ich das, was ich dachte tun zu müssen. Ich wollte dadurch ein anerkanntes, erfolgreiches Mitglied dieser Gesellschaft sein. Ich hab dabei vergessen mich zu fragen, was mich selbst glücklich macht und was ich mit diesem kostbaren Leben anfangen will.
Nach der Matura absolvierte ich eine Ausbildung in der Werbeakademie und arbeitete anschließend als Kundenberater in Werbeagenturen. Sagen zu können, dass man in der Werbung ist, das war damals in den Neunzigern richtig cool - und erst die Parties! Dann wechselte ich in die PR-Abteilung von Ärzte ohne Grenzen, wo ich für den Webauftritt Österreich verantwortlich war. Dort begann ich dann das Studium der Sozialarbeit mit anschließender Arbeit für das SOS Kinderdorf.
19 Jahre meines Lebens habe ich in der Schule, in einer Berufsausbildung oder einem Studium verbracht, die ganzen Fortbildungen garnicht mitgerechnet. Ich habe mich stets selbst unter Druck gesetzt, das in eine Karriere umzuwandeln, bei der es immer bergauf gehen muss.
Umso länger ich auf dem Arbeitsmarkt war, desto mehr hab ich mich gefragt, ob das wirklich mein Beitrag zur Welt sein soll. Ich konnte nie und will bis heute nicht akzeptieren, dass wir offensichtlich die Erde und mit ihr die ganze Menschheit für kurzfristigen Profit gegen die Wand fahren. Deshalb begab ich mich auf die Suche nach Gleichgesinnten und fand sie 2013 im Verein Option 2.0 - Plattform zur Stärkung der Zivilgesellschaft: http://www.opt2o.org
Nachdem ich meinen regulären Job beim SOS Kinderdorf gekündigt hatte, wollte ich herausfinden, wohin mich das Leben zieht. Ich fing mit dem Taxifahren in Wien an und mache das bis heute immer Donnerstag und Freitag Nacht. Daneben arbeitete ich bis heute für diverse Startups, eines im Bildungsbereich, eines im Hanf/CBD-Business und eines, das sich mit innovativen Mobilitätslösungen beschäftigt. Derzeit arbeite ich mit der Technischen Universität ein einem Projekt, in dem es darum geht, Sharing- und Lieferservice miteinander zu verbinden: https://projekte.ffg.at/projekt/3327780
Meine Erfahrung in der Freiwilligenarbeit bei Option 2.0 brachte mich dazu, mein eigenes Projekt zu starten. PATRON4change ist eine Plattform, auf der ich "Changemaker" mit Unterstützern zusammen bringe, damit sie gemeinsam sozialen/ökologischen Wandel vorantreiben können und andere Menschen dazu inspirieren, ihrem Beispiel zu folgen. Ein Prototyp ist bereits online unter https://patron4change.org aufrufbar. Damit ich die Plattform weiter entwickeln kann würde ich mich über Hilfe freuen.
