Rain cascades in sheets outside my window. Its reserved patter sounds of calm, while the world fights fear and risk. If I consider my privilege in times of certainty, I must during times of doubt. Steady rainfall or not, the sudden flurry of snow this evening reminds anything is possible. Though unusual finds a new meaning as foundations shake to the core over personal and public health. Crisis times often shock people into an assessment of their values, as sustained losses point out the significance of the remnants. Lucky for me, consistent reflections come like a gift, but not strictly for special occasions.
I see peers struggle under the confinement to their homes. Some adapt to reveal a drive to use their resource and continue sharing. Others lament, bemoan or begrudge the circumstance, blaming futility for their inaction. It is my opinion that once again an opportunity hangs, dangling like a fruit for those who want to catch. Yet, it’s easy pickings for those determined. The case for electronic peer-to-peer payments is as strong as March is cold, with blockchain, an umbrella of utility waiting to be opened. However, there is timing in everything, therefore, I cannot anticipate its arrival. I can empower community in anticipation.
Optimism is not as easily found as a cloud in a rainstorm, but it is out there. Like a flash of lightning, you might miss it, though you can feel it coming.
