In past posts we have taken a look at how people have dealt with the new situation of the Corona pandemic.
In this we saw how people have been dealing with a new piece of accessory: the mask. Ever since it has become mandatory to wear them (in some public spaces), there are many different styles and preferences of how to wear them. They can be seen in many different colors and lately there are even slogans on them like "protect each other".
Nevertheless, the mask is still something that appears to be foreign, something that doesn't quite fit into our daily lives: we have to carry it awkwardly in our hands or under our chin when we don't want to use it. It is a confounder that we can't quite rid ourselves of - may it be because we are forced to wear it or when we wear it out of conviction to help protect others. It still is an accessory that we haven't grown accustomed to - at least in western societies. Will this change over time when the pandemic fails to dwindle? And how long would it take for such a change to occur? Will it happen when our children's memories don't remember a time without them?
Note: If the picture(s) in this post depicts yourself or someone you know and you want it removed, please let me know and I will remove it. As street photography is considered to be an art form in my country it enables artists to publish pictures of people in public places.
