Late Afternoons at the Beach
Camotes Sea / Gabas Beach
Even as an adult, I'm still afraid of deep waters, I just have this irrational fear when being submerged in water.
But once in my life, when I was younger, when Grandpa was still alive, I swam in great waves, taller than me. I only had a DIY floataion device, an empty plastic gallon.
My Grandpa brought us at the beach, waves were tall and strong, hitting the shores in loud boom.
Yet with him, I felt so brave, I felt no fear swimming with the dangerous waves. We were full of excitement and happiness, waiting for new waves to carry us up and down on that dark, wild sea.
I still love the beach and the mellow sea, I'm always drawn to my hometown sea. Yet without my grandpa, I can't go far and deep in this deep, dark sea.
Sometimes, I don't know why my old self went to places like this one—alone.
