If you want to be an author who creates wonderful books that people love to read, it takes work. An obvious statement, right? Well, what I learned, is that most of the work isn’t the ‘writing’, it’s learning HOW to write. When I started, I had never written a novel; I had to learn the mechanics of writing and how to create a system, a method to produce the story that was fighting inside of me to get into my reader’s hands. These videos will help you avoid many of the mistakes I made, errors that cost me months of editing and revision. Let me help you get started correctly.
Take time to connect with your own characters. Love them, laugh with them, hate them, because if you do not, how will your readers develop that kind of relationship with them? When I started writing, I decided that if I could create characters that my readers loved, laughed with, and cried with, then I had done my part in sharing the character’s stories.
I do refer to someone whose videos and instruction I found helpful, K.M Weiland. Here is the link to her YouTube Channel HERE
She is a wonderful teacher and, I think, an expert in the technical aspects of writing. Unfortunately for me, I'm not a very structured writer. My 'outlines' are mostly nonexistent when I start writing, and I never know where my characters are going to take the story. I can't tell you how many times I sat back in my chair and said, "Wow, I never saw that coming!"
What I am saying is that there is more than one way to write, what I will try to share with you are some of the pitfalls and roadblocks that might cause you heartache in the process.
