To kick off this Memorial Day Weekend, we’ve been out and abouting, rediscovering South Florida and its wild, wild life.
With out of towners visiting for a surprise birthday, we got to take a few fun field trips, where I ate alligator 🐊 nuggets for the first time (tasty and salty, like chicken!)
Then, we stopped by the side of the road and saw dozens of alligators swimming and sunbathing ...
I was further reminded how dangerous Florida can be as we drove past panther and bear crossings, where snakes 🐍 also slither about...
On the kinder side of things, got to
hang out with a raccoon 🦝 and met a family of manatees, while on an air boat
But, the highlight of our trip was sailing on the ocean, in Miami, for a breezy couple of hours— where we had our surprise birthday party and jumped into the water for a swim.
