Hello everyone here on the blockchain HIVE, this is actually my first post here on hive even though it's been weeks since my brother first introduced and assisted me in creating an account.
My name is Zeenat Abdullahi, I'm a Nigerian from Kogi State (Nigeria is located in West Africa). Kogi state is one of the thirty six states in the country and one unique thing apart from the lovely people is the landmark.
Usually referred to as the confluence state, two of the major rivers flowing through Nigeria, the river Niger and river Benue both join at a point hence the name confluence.
I'm currently an undergraduate student at the Bayero University Kano studying Health Education. There's a lot of development I see going on around me everyday in the health industry and it was one of the things that caught my attention.
I think people in the health sector have quite a lot of responsibility and there's actually a lot going on there, so contributing however little I can would go a long way.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
Reading of course is big on my list of hobbies and I'm not sure I would even be here without that interest. We learn something new everyday, however small it might seem.
Another thing I absolutely love doing is having a me- time. There's just a lot going on that we sometimes forget to just rest and have some fun. So whether it's hanging out alone or with friends, I love to have fun away from school and work whenever I can.
Studying Health Education in Kano state which is in the northern part of Nigeria has also made me develop a few other interests as well. One of which is educating school children around me on the importance of good hygiene.
Northern Nigeria is home to a large percentage of the Nigerian population and I couldn't have found a better place to talk about health education. A large population means more use of the health facilities available in the region, so there's a need for continuous education on advantages of proper hygiene amongst its residents.
EXPECTATIONS
This one was actually a question my brother asked me after I created my account.
My expectations coming on the blockchain is majorly to have fun and share my own experiences.
Of course the idea that what you share could also be rewarded is perhaps a plus that cannot be overlooked. I look forward to engaging and meeting new people while at the same time learning as much as I can.
KNOWLEDGE ABOUT CRYPTOCURRENCIES
LOL, this shouldn't be shocking but I have next to no knowledge about cryptocurrencies although over the years I've picked up on how it works.
Of course, the very first one I heard of is the Bitcoin majorly because almost every Nigerian at some point has heard of it even
if some of us are not familiar with it.
Hive I know of because I've been hearing of it from my brother for about a year now and it was the writing part that interested me about the blockchain.
Transaction wise, I've not done any crypto transaction before (I hope that'll get to change), but I guess there's no race to who did it first so I'll eventually get there.
With more and more people getting interested in cryptocurrencies, I think this whole hive project as a blog is actually brilliant. What better way to get people to interact using cryptocurrencies than by creating a social platform to do just that.
A picture of me and my bro
I do hope I can look back later and see some growth on the platform probably a year from now.
