its my humble pleasure to share my first post in this community, am glad to meet you all and to share in the joy of the season.
MY CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE
Christmas celebration is always a time for reunion, reconciliation and many more, back from my childhood days when we had to travel to cities to spent the holidays with our love once and relative, I cant forget so soon how fund full the days use to be and the beautiful looks, we had. it was normal that by this time we had visited shopping centers to get some new clothes, shoes and other related materials all for the joy of the season.
our shoes then, will be glittering and full of light reflection and some with very loud sound that will announces our presence, at any time we are passing, you can not pretend you did not see us, that alone was an achievement to us but as time changes so much also begins to change into a new dimension. Though i miss those days but can not be compared to the fund, joy and excitement at this level.
UYO CHRISTMAS VILLAGE EXPERIENCE
last year it was a bit challenging due to the global pandemic that visited the globe, the village was not active as usual, because of the fear of Covid, but this year am making plans to have my maximum time as in the previous years.
Uyo Christmas village is located at the Ibibio Unity Museum Park, situated at Udo Udoma, its a ample platform for the state entertainers to share and showcase their talents to the world.
One of the best place you can have Akwa Ibom’s culinary, the Christmas village, is a home for all, it is design to accommodates all small-scale entrepreneur, convectional and delicacies like **Ekpang Nkukwo, Afang soup, Edikang Ikong soup, Editan soup, Atama, Afia Efere Ebot, Fisherman soup, Pepper soup, Isi-ewu and other native delegacies. you can have a change in delicacies if you have not had the best in a long while, Christmas village is a place to be.
Aside from the yummy yummy eating experience, there are a lots of soul thrilling experience through different music artist at various spots, ranging from blues to reggae, highlife, afro, jazz, classical, fuji and lots more, its always a time were the entire village comes alive.
Also in the village are health practitioners and security operatives available to attend to emergencies when necessary and ensure safety.
Like a village, there are vast social amenities within the area such as toilets for the convenience of patronizers.
The village fun is heightened by a plethora of recreational and sporting activities available for all age groups such that one would record no dull moment if they decide to stay all day.
The economic importance of the Christmas Village beyond entertainment has been the boost of small-scale businesses and the projection of their owners who enjoy the patronage of participants in no small measure. Subsequently, contacts are exchanged for future deals and collaboration.
Thus, if you are a visiting indigene or foreigner you are free to have a feel of what uyo and Akwa Ibom can and has to offer the world in terms of business, creativity, innovation and excellence.
