This time, I’m participating in this new challenge from this wonderful community, featuring THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL , and immediately, an animal came to mind that, ever since I saw it when I was very young, caught my attention with its beauty and elegance—none other than the Peacock, the common name by which it is known in my country, though it has other names such as Indian Peacock, Blue-breasted Peacock, or its scientific name, Pavo Cristatus.

So, upon remembering it, I went back to where I first encountered it—a zoo in my city—where they have always kept this species of bird and where they allow them to roam relatively “free” throughout the park grounds. They are not confined to any cages or enclosures; instead, they move freely wherever they please, displaying their beauty and elegance in all their splendor.

These birds originated in India, from where various historical figures brought them to different countries, where they were welcomed as symbols of great beauty, eventually becoming and integrating into various cultures across several nations. Their history dates back to the years of the Old Testament, that is, before Christ—a rather striking fact, since this animal has been present in various religions in one way or another as a symbol of beauty and even as part of one of the most exquisite dishes among the nobility and warriors.

What really catches the eye is the vibrant color and beautiful pattern of its plumage, which it tends to display in full, proudly showing off its beauty, as if knowing it is being admired; in fact, when I went to take the photos I’m sharing here, it stood right in front of me as if posing for someone who admires it. That little detail caught my attention because generally these animals are quite territorial—that is, they like to be admired, but from a distance—and this one, the star of my post, stood just a few meters from where I was.

It was as if he knew I just wanted to capture his best angles, and I was actually lucky, because I know from personal experience with my daughters that when they were little, they tried to get close to them during one of our many visits to the park, and the animals chased after them, hahahaha, so I know firsthand that they’re territorial, since they’re wild animals by nature; therefore, they aren’t exactly domesticated and are only displayed in zoos or natural habitats where they can be “free” without being caged.

Because their elusive nature isn’t conducive to domestication, and they’re only raised as ornamental animals, as is the case here. So as I examined it closely and admired the delicacy of its form, its tiny head, its slender blue body, I couldn’t help but think I hadn’t made a mistake in choosing it as one of my most beautiful animals, since that’s undeniably clear; besides letting me take their photos, they posed for me, offered beautiful angles, and were friendly, since it didn’t try to flee or show any inclination to attack me, and just as it approached, it went on its way to continue strolling with its friends.

En esta ocasión llego a esta nueva propuesta de esta bella comunidad, con EL ANIMAL MAS BONITO y de una vez, vino a mi mente un animal que desde que lo vi siendo muy pequeña llamó mi atención por su belleza y elegancia y no es otro que el conocido como Pavo Real, nombre popular en que se conoce en mi país, pero que tiene otros nombres como Pavo Real de la India, Pavo Real de Pecho Azul o con su nombre científico Pavo Cristatus.

Entonces, al recordarlo, me fui donde lo conocí, a un zoológico de mi ciudad, donde siempre han tenido esta especie de ave y donde la mantienen relativamente en "libertad" por los espacios del parque, ya que no está en ninguna jaula o espacio para ellos, pues se encuentran transitando libremente por donde les apetece, exhibiendo su belleza y elegancia en todo su esplendor.

Estas aves tuvieron su origen en la India, desde donde diferentes personajes históricos los fueron llevando a los diversos países y donde fueron recibidos como símbolos de gran belleza, convirtiéndose e integrándose, incluso, en parte de varias culturas en varios países. Su historia se remonta a los años del Antiguo Testamento, es decir, antes de Cristo, cuestión bastante llamativa, ya que este animal ha estado presente en las diferentes religiones de alguna forma u otra como símbolo de belleza e incluso como parte de uno de los platos más exquisitos entre la nobleza y los guerreros. .

Y es que lo que llama más la atención es su gran colorido y diseño hermoso que tiene en su plumaje, que tiende a desplegar en su plenitud, luciendo orgulloso su hermosura, como sabiéndose admirado; de hecho, para cuando le fui a tomar las diferentes fotografías que aquí presento, se paró frente a mí como quien posa para alguien que lo admira. Ese detallazo llamó mi atención porque generalmente estos animales son bastante territoriales, es decir, les gusta ser admirados, pero desde lejos, y este, el protagonista de mi post, se paró justo a unos cuantos metros desde donde yo estaba.

Como que supiera que solo quería tomar sus mejores ángulos y tuve suerte en realidad, porque sé por experiencias personales con mis hijas que cuando estaban pequeñas intentaron acercárseles en una de tantas visitas al parque y ellos la salieron persiguiendo, jajajajaja, entonces sé por primera mano que son territoriales, pues son animales silvestres o salvajes en sus orígenes; por lo tanto, no son precisamente domésticos y solo se exhiben en zoológicos o lugares naturales donde puedan ser "libres" sin estar encerrados.

Porque su naturaleza huidiza no es propicia para ser domesticados y solo son criados como animales ornamentales, como es en este caso. Así es que mientras lo detallaba y admiraba la delicadeza de sus formas, su pequeña cabeza, su delgado cuerpo azul, no podía menos que pensar que no me equivoqué al elegirlo como uno de mis animales más bonitos, pues indudablemente eso está a la vista; aparte de dejarse tomar las fotos, me dieron poses, ángulos bellos y amabilidad, ya que no buscó huir ni tuvo ánimos de atacarme y, así como se acercó, así mismo se fue a seguir paseando con sus amigos.
