I took these photos using a plastic waterproof cover, which allowed me to roam around in the water and get some interesting angles, without worrying about getting the phone camera wet.
This is Plettenberg Bay, in the Garden Route region of the south Cape coast of Africa, late December 2025. It's holiday time and I'm here among the other tourists having a jolly splendid time outdoors in one of the best beaches in the area.
The water is so clear, as you can see, which is epic for photographing the features lurking just under the water. I was slightly reserved about my fragile plastic cover so remained hesitant. Nevertheless, the photos came out alright.
This beach is called Keurboomstrand beach and shows the rugged vegetation and steep cliffs that rise right up from the white beach sand like a true tropical island paradise. Lucky are those who make it to this epic setting or anything like it in their lives.
It's summer holiday time now and folks are enjoying their family outings on this tourist beach known only to a rare few lucky souls like me. Come and try it out when you get a chance, now that you know where it is.
Photos my own.
