The weekend wasn't heading anywhere but I was feeling that I was needing more outside space to clear the mind. May had been long already and even though I enjoyed the first couple of days with rain because nature really needed it, but....Let's say that I was also more than fed up with it fast enough again.
The garden was screaming for some attention but as the saying here that 'IJsheiligen' or better said 'the holy ice day' is the day which they always say that it is safe enough to put your seedlings outside, and that is around 16th of May.
I can tell you, the day before that sacred you-can-plant-everything-now day it was still freezing in the night. Better said, no time for planting as yet.
And it seemed like there were rain showers every day, which is fine ofcourse..the plants are loving it. But my mood on my bicycle towards everywhere was kind of getting more calm and calm from it (or should we just call it as it seems and call it irritated)
Finally the skies were blue again even though it was super cold, but that is all fine as long as the pooch just wants to walk outside, which means I want to walk outside.
I didn't even think something out of it, as the sun was shining and the color of the sky was all normal. As Dutchies do we also check the weather radar to see if anything was coming up, and there was nothing going on.
As I was walking further and further into the woods it started to drizzle a bit which is always fine especially when you are in the woods where the rain doesn't really get to you.
Usually what I do when it is drizzling is that I just tend to hoover around in the woods and wait until the rain is over. I mean, with the dog with you it is always a good idea to have longer time in the woods, as that one is just always happily running around over there.
Breaking hell
Until it seemed like all hell just broke loose all of a sudden and rain started pouring down just out of nothing. Again the same tactic was there, just wait under a tree and see what happens. But there all of a sudden the sounds of thunder was super close.
What the heck just happened over here that all of a sudden this was there. I decided to wait a bit more, and checked the radar but that one said it would continue to rain for a while longer so I just moved on.
When I stepped out of the woods all, there it was just the most beautiful sight. A rainbow with colors I had hardly ever seen before>
I was able to see exactly where the cloud was ending and also a double rainbow even appeared next to the first one giving it even a better and more dramatic sighting of the whole natural spectacle.
I stopped and just stared for a while at it. As the sounds of the thunder were slowly rolling away, also the rainbow disappeared in the same speed as that it had arrived.
The funny thing to all of this of course was that if the squall (because that is what I would call it, this was serious rain) was on the radar, there would not have been a thought crossing my mind to head outside.
But because it there was nothing ...I just went, and got this in return. It was lovely!
Fiyahhhh!
As it was still damn cold I it was time to also make a fire. I had spotted some woodworm holes in my wood stash, and that meant it was time to get rid of that before everything would be eaten by the wood worms.
Honestly, there is nothing better than just making a fire and staring into it and just letting the thoughts drift away after putting on the sweatpants after this gigantic soak outside.
As you can see the sunlight even came through the clouds again letting the bon feu letters light up on the wood.
What a weird day! But I know I love these nature kinds of things going on and it is time to head outside a lot more again!
And ow yeah..I really need to plant out the seedlings now, as cold feels long gone now over here
