Esta planta es Impatiens balsamina o simplemente bálsamo de jardín... pero en nuestro dialecto local la llamamos Kamantigue.
No es solo una planta ornamental... tiene muchas propiedades y usos medicinales.

I would like to share this beneficial plant we have everywhere around the property.. 😊
This plant is Impatiens balsamina or simply garden balsam.. but in our local dialect, we call it Kamantigue..
This isn't just an ornamental plant.. it has a lot of medicinal properties and uses..
Let's start with the leaves 🌿
Las hojas son lisas y con bordes ligeramente afilados. Puede crecer hasta unos 10-12 cm de largo.

The leaves are smooth and with slightly sharp edges.. it can grow to about 10-12 cm long..
Se cree que las hojas machacadas curan las verrugas. También se pueden usar para curar heridas externas y mordeduras de serpiente. Son comestibles y algunas personas las cocinan o las comen crudas, pero en nuestra familia nunca probamos las hojas por ningún motivo.
Los niños pequeños también usan el jugo de las hojas para teñirse las uñas de verde.😁
Aquí hay un estudio que muestra las hojas de Camantigue como alternativa al esmalte de uñas.

the crushed leaves are believed to treat warts.. It can also be used to heal external wounds and snake bites.. They are also edible and some people cook it or eat them raw,, but in our family, we never tried eating the leaves for any reason..
The leaf juice is also used by little kids to color their nails green.. 😁
