We are very happy to present the winners of the first official project hope contest.
It was amazing to see how many people took part in this contest and the amount of comments that were given. There were 31 valid entries to the contest. The post counts at the moment 160 comments and 18 reblogs. This is really much more than what we could expect.
We would like to thank everybody who took the time to write what kind of business they would create with 20'000 USD and also all the people who commented and upvoted these comments. You have been great!
How were the winners choosen
The users selected the 10 finalists of the contest by upvoting the entries. It was the number of upvotes that taken into consideration and not the upvote value. Like that every voice had the same value. Here the list of the entries and the number of votes that they got:
I had now the very difficult task to select the best entries among the 10 finalists. This is quite a subjective process and I tried to make it as objectif possible. I rated each entry according to it's originality, the given detail and also according to its economical potential. This gave a certain amount of points for each entry. I also factored the given upvotes into the process but only with a weight 50%.
