I have heard a lot of people complain about their work and how hard they had to repeat the same thing all day. Thanks to science for Robotic process automation (RPA), a lot of people will not have to complain about repeating the same thing in their workplace rather they might have to complain about job loss. Anyway there is always a job to do.
Robotic process automation
This technology allows the configuration of computer software or bots (No physical robots involved) to emulate the actions of humans interacting with digital system so as to execute business process. Like I said before, there are no physical robots involved with Robotic process automation rather, robotic process automation involves automating using a software running on a physical machine. This process enables human-computer interaction fast and error-free.
Robotic process automation is very vital in every industry as well as in every business units from human resources, marketing, IT, and finance. Robotic process automation has been useful in businesses to emulate human action, conduct high-volume repeated tasks, and perform multiple tasks, virtual system integration, automated report generation and other virtual technical processes.
Unlike regular automation that requires application programming interface (APIs) to integrate different system meaning the developer must be sound, RPA doesn’t integrate with the software it operates rather it interact on a human level.
Robotic Process Automation and its Downsides
Although still not a large market, the robotic process automation market reached a revenue of $1.3 billion in revenue and has been predicted to reach $2.9 billion in 2021, RPA has been very useful in businesses but cannot handle all aspects of a business. Units in businesses that involves security, technicality and distribution has not been fully made automated and still require the presence of humans.
Since RPA doesn’t integrate with the software rather it interacts with the application it is configured to, it is limited to the speed of the application.
