If I am not mistaken, the quote “Made in China” is becoming more popular that a lot of people do not even bother to check the countries imported goods are produced any longer with the believe that they are all made in China. Made in china will soon be more popular than the word Coca-Cola or Good Morning, as it is seen on cutleries, tables, cloths and outfits, shoes, toothpicks, pencils, phones, gas cylinders, reusable bags, refuse bags, machines and so many more. It now looks like China is our source of civilization and like they own virtually all products.
Does this mean that we do not produce good products, and the goods produced in china are owned by Chinese?
I have seen a lot of people from Africa go with designs to China to make the products as it is believed to be cheap there. This products are then labeled with the “made in China’ label, making it a Chinese product (it is a Chinese product, it is made on a Chinese soil), even Tech giant like Apple do what is known as contract manufacturing of parts for the Apple products and most of the contract manufacturers are in China and with that, it comes with the label “Made in China”. On the other hand, since Contracts it part manufacturers, then this means that not all parts are made in China, a lot of parts might be made in other countries but one other thing might differ, Country of Assemble. If you lose up so many products, you will realize that their parts were made in different countries but were assembled in China, making it a product with a Made in China label. A lot of product produced in China are tariffed based on the country of registration and not as a Chinese company.
Why China
Most goods produced in the past were produced in the United States, Europe and other part of Asia but not China. It wasn’t until in the 1980s when China allowed the world to invest in it and people saw that there were cheap labors in the country. Although the country still deal with low quality goods, it is no doubt that Chinese invest in technology, and at such, there are several technical Chinese gurus. Currently, China is the world’s first exporting country followed by the United States (I see reasons why Trump is on China).
Why are so many products from China cheap?
If you have heard about a company called EUPA, then you might understand what it looks like to have a factory that produces virtually or appliance and gadget in its factory as well as the raw material. Indigenous Chinese factories do not use automations, they use human labor and they make sure this labors work faster than machines. In this Chinese factories, they might be forced to work overtime with no increase in pay.
Conclusion
When next you see a Made in China tag, you need to understand that not all products are made there fully as some parts might be made in other countries but were assembled in China. While the cheap Chinese products are products that are of a little less quality with all parts and raw materials from china and from the same company as they use very high labour at a cheap price.
