Hello friends, how are you? I hope you are very well and I hope you had an excellent week!
Today I come with a very important topic, I think it is one of the bases to be able to succeed in our life. EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE.
Did you know that according to studies it has been shown that emotional intelligence represents 80% of our success in life? While rational intelligence represents 20%.
I know perfectly well that success does not mean the same thing for everyone, there will be those who will interpret its meaning with having a lot of money and prestige, while others will look for a balance between their economic and emotional quality of life. For me, success should not only bring financial peace of mind, but also mental peace, it is being able to live moments that make you happy, it is having quality of life.
Now, we can define emotional intelligence as the capacity we have to know our emotions and understand them. To be able to understand our thoughts and feelings and of course, to be able to manage them. That is what EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE means to me!
But how can we identify a person who is EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT?
1. It is a person who can recognize his own emotions, it is important to know why we feel what we feel in certain moments and situations. Since our childhood we are emotional beings, so it is important to learn to identify and channel those emotions.
2. Making connection with our emotions, it is important not to repress what we feel, certainly most of us would like to be always happy, but it is not the reality, the reality is that we can feel sadness or anger and we must let those emotions also manifest. Otherwise it is very likely that later on in life we can get sick from not letting go of everything we feel, our body is very wise and our emotions can manifest as illnesses in our body.
3. We must know that emotions are neither bad nor good, they are NECESSARY, it is normal that we are emotional beings, what is in our hands is to control how we react to them, but we cannot avoid feeling them. We should not always be happy, it is acceptable to be sad, angry or afraid in certain situations, we must connect with them and let them out. Knowing them will make us aware of our constant state. This will also help us to be able to interpret them in other people.
As we all know we have 4 main emotions, JOY, SADNESS, RAGE AND FEAR.
I didn't know much about it and didn't give it much thought, but the reality is that our emotions, feelings and thoughts can help us live better or the opposite. So the least we can do is know ourselves and know why we do things, why we feel certain emotions and be able to control our actions.
People with emotional intelligence do not distinguish between an emotion or action is good or bad simply accept it, why? because we are not all the same, which for me may be good, for you may be just the opposite. So a person with emotional intelligence can accept that not everyone has to think the same way he or she does.
I believe that there are many people who go through life with a life that they don't want but don't know what to do to improve it, it would be good if schools and universities took the time to talk and teach about this topic, I believe that the effect on the next generations would be fantastic, people would be much happier and more empathetic. Knowing and accepting our emotions will let us know that other people also go through similar situations and moments.
DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT?
