Yes, we have already seen a First Example of a product that is currently known and consumed worldwide, and that has been born within a context of crisis, I bring another one that is known all over the world, but this time it is not something to ingest, it is rather a service, I am talking about:
Airbnb
For those who have never heard or seen this name, this is a platform that serves as an intermediary between someone with some property (room, house, etc) anywhere in the world available for rent, and someone who needs that space as a host for a certain time.
The creators of this platform are Brian Chesky, Joe Gebbia and Nathan Blecharczyk, all three born in San Francisco (United States), in 2008...
Let's remember that the following year, the world went through a great crisis, which started and stood out basically in the real estate sector.
The beginnings of Airbnb
The beginning of this company is very interesting, and is a clear example of how they managed to turn a complex situation into an opportunity to improve their economy, to solve a problem.
In 2007, the San Francisco apartment where Joe and Brian lived increased the cost of rent by 25%, from one day to the next. They had of course knowledge in computers, internet, and other areas of technology. They realized that the following week a design conference would be held in the city, so they decided, in view of the increase in housing prices, to provide an option to the attendees of that event, so they created an application, which served as a directory of apartments that were renting rooms, a much cheaper alternative than hotels.
It was so that that week they managed to earn about 1000 dollars. At first the project was called Airbed & Breakfast. Because they offered a room that became available in their apartment, because after the increase Nathan Blecharczyk was forced to vacate it, since he didn't have the money to pay.
Fun fact: Airbed because they offered an inflatable mattress in that room, and a breakfast.
Realizing the success they had with this application/directory, they launched the project on a larger scale in 2009. Offering the option of more economical accommodations, and being the intermediaries.
Some will say, but if I can get to a place where I decide to travel and stay in a hotel, I don't see what's new. The difference in prices is their flag.
Currently the platform offers more than 7 million properties of different types in more than 100 thousand cities in 220 countries and regions of the world, What's up?
If we do a little memory, the year 2009 was also a year of global economic crisis. All this also served as a historical framework for the emergence of cryptomonies and the use of the Blockchain in the economic area as we know it today.
Interesting, don't you think?
For now I have culminated in this publication.
I hope it has helped to strengthen our search for options in the midst of this crisis.
I invite you to visit Project.hope and learn about the benefits of this project for all those interested in growing while helping others to grow.
