While decentralization is the topic of my post today, there is another agenda I have for my b/oc.scape project here on the Hive.blog. Visit this introductory post for an overview and the b/oc.scape mission statement.
The importance of decentralization cannot be overstated. As stated in the introductory post, b/oc.scapes is meant to be the technical half of my Hive<->Steemit contributions. Even so, there are times when a creative perspective on technical operations is warranted. I believe this to be the case when attempting to convey the dire nature of how much the world need decentralization right now.
DeFi: The Two Paths touches on a subject that's telling on many levels. For those without a formal education, the following illustration might be helpful:
one works in financial accounting
and the other in operational management.
The above fictional story makes more sense when put into the context of market prediction. I believe this to be especially useful in planning implementations for decentralize applications and systems.
Allow me to summarize my thoughts in a single sentence before proceeding to more analogies to conclude today's b/oc.scape post.
The world needs to approach decentralized commerce from the perspective of human emotions because people create technology, corporations, and policies- and not the other way around.
Don't fall into the pitfalls of overly centralized solutions.
We cannot control everything, especially not the future.
Take extra time if you need it, like a good night's sleep or a rescheduling for next week. In the moment, this might seem like procrastination, so keep in mind some of the tragic failure that have been directly attributed to centralized systems (e.g. financial crisis of 2008 and any of a number of major system hacks).
Never forget, the sky is open and free.
Envisioning the benefits of decentralization can return us to a proper mindset.
Spread the word and create exciting opportunities.
