Today is a very special Holiday Celebration in the United Kingdom, specifically Scotland. Notably, because it is "Robert Burns" Birthday on the 25th January. So who is he? You might ask! Well he was a most famous Scottish poet best know for writing "Auld Lang Syne". This is now a song that is sung every "New Year's Eve" in Scotland at midnight.
So "Burns Night" is an important Holiday event to Scots as it celebrates the poet's life and poetic achievements. This is done by eating an evening meal of Haggis and listening to traditional bagpipe songs.
If you have never heard the Bagpipes before, then you're in for a treat, as the sound is quite unusual, and completely unique for sure... Enjoy π
