In 2016 I recorded a little EP called "A Full Circle." Down the Rabbit Hole was the first track. It's a really simple meditative tune. When I wrote it I had just come to a conclusion about life.
Happiness and comfort come from within, they are not a destination, but a state of mind. At some point you have to realize that or risk forever carrying the seeker complex. We all know those people who are endlessly searching for their one true love, or the religion that suits them, or the location on planet Earth they feel at home in, etc. That fix is somewhere. Surely this time, I've found it.
Something changed during this time in my life. I became a happy, well-adjusted person for the first time ever. I realized it was just a decision I needed to make. Period. Nothing outside myself was required to do that. And it just clicked. Like a light that went on inside of me.
Down the Rabbit Hole was my way of processing that transition from seeking to being.

To go forward is to go back
To go back is to go forward
She’s running circles on a track
It doesn’t matter which direction
She says, “I am here, I’ve never been there before
The grass was warm and I was looking hard,”
And, “I am there, I’ve never been here before
I fell so deep it caught me off my guard.”
Ooo—Ooo—Ooo—
And at the stroke of midnight
The sun beams from straight above
North, South, East, West are obscured by the lack of shadows.
She’s in the Land of Midnight now
And when push comes to shove
She’ll drink a drink and shrink and slink away.
Ooo—Ooo—Ooo—
Stranger in a strange, strange land
Where rabbits white are late for dates,
Don’t have time to be her friend
Stranger in a strange, strange land
She’s further now from close
Than she has ever been.
