A few years back- 10+ to be precisely unprecise. I lived over in the U.K. in Birmingham and was in a joke band called Gold Fat Cats. A bunch of my buddies over there are very talented musicians and whenever we would all get together for drinks or to smoke or whatever at our flat we would make a point of writing silly songs with everyone's input, record everything, and put the song up on the interwebs before the hangover was gone the next day. Eventually we had enough ridiculous music and enough people involved that we actually put together a couple of albums that have been sitting in various backwaters of the internet just waiting to make people want to tear their ears off. I invite you all to give it a listen for as long as you can manage and then go ahead and tear me apart for posting it in the comments!
Here is a link to the most recent album with "better" production quality and slightly more coherence.
Personal favorites are Dino Nuggets, Strictly No Seeds, and The Gnomish War.

As part of creating the songs we would use randomly generated chord progressions or lyrics to get started and then just let what happened happen. We were lucky to have a resident production and mastering Wizard that was always up for making insane random music 'til the wee hours of the morning.
Fair warning- what you are about to hear may not be considered music in the traditional sense. Some would say it sounds like a dead or dying cat or many other worse things. It was all in the name of a good time and practicing our creative skills!
This one is the older, crazier, more mental on every level of ridiculousness- if you like randomly generated content you can find it here!

It looks like I can't actually embed a player for either bandcamp or soundclick... apologies for sending you to an external site to listen!
