We've made it to the last two tracks of Thru the Clouds of Smoke, the first full-length LP release on Twice As High Records, to be released later this summer. The theme of the LP from my point of view is a journey of going in and out of paranoia, convincing oneself that everything is OK, and then thinking again that perhaps it is not. The end of Side B of the record is the calming down portion of this cycle. And with it being a record, you can flip it over and start the whole thing over again!
The artist on Track 9 of the album is a synthwave master who goes by the name of Alonewolf (), who can really hit any mood with the stroke of a key it seems.
One of his newest tracks is a smooth darkwave track called Crystal Lake, which is apparently inspired by the Friday the 13th series:
Alonewolf's track "North Coast" immediately puts me in the frame of mind I'm in when I'm driving along Highway 1 in Northern California. Maybe not what was intended, but it's what it makes me feel like, and I love it:
My absolute favorite tune I've heard by Alonewolf is the tune that will be Track 9 of Thru the Clouds of Smoke, and is somehow both a light and heavy tune at the same time. The way the double-time beat comes in after such a long intro part gets me every time, I love it. Here's "Catch The Breeze" by Alonewolf:
If you enjoy the synthwave genre, then you can't go wrong with Alonewolf. Find a lot of Alonewolf's tunes here:

Finally, we have come to the last track of the album. This track is brought to you by the one and only Black Eye Butterfly (). Black Eye Butterfly (or BEB) has been song-writing for quite some time, and the world is lucky for that. There is maybe not one genre that encapsulates the music of BEB, because he dabbles in rock, folk, reggae, punk, and general craziness, and nails it every time. Here's one of his big tunes, which is kind of a new-wave catchy weirdo one, I Am An Antenna:
Here's one of my personal favorites of BEB's, a punk rock tune he apparently wrote as a young man, called Acetic Summers:
I should also mention that Black Eye Butterfly is in a duo with Billy Korg () called the Stress Cones, who can do no wrong in my opinion. Check out their tunes here (or on Emanate if you have an account there):

The Stress Cones are a whole different thing that we will address in a future post...
This brings us to the final track of Thru the Clouds of Smoke. After all of the mood swings throughout the album, at the end we finally tie things together with Black Eye Butterfly's tune I'm Right On:
