If you look at it at a glance, we are talking about another old Yamaha CS-5 synthesizer.
Someone working at the auction portal where the synth has been auctioned for $1,200 in 2006, turned the machine over to clean it and located this inscription for the Blue Calx release in 1994... In impact, the synth belonged to Aphex Twin, which explains why the initials are AFX.
Contrary to the scratched initials on the front, this inscription is a true work of art. Aphex Twin agreed to disclose that he had used this synthesizer and another huge Yamaha EX-42 organ (the predecessor of the GX-1) for the creation of Selected Ambient Works II (known as SAWII) - from 1994.
Apparently, after the auction the new owner lent the synth to Canadian producer Jason Solvent, who again used this historic Yamaha CS5 for the Curtains issue of his RDJCS5-ep. The production is more than documented in his official video, which we embed below.
