This is the 3rd post from me detailing the songs that introduce my book Postcards From Hell.
This very short instrumental piece played by master guitarist Steve Morse apparently composed as he watched the Space Shuttle explode on television.
The title contact lost is an obvious reference to losing touch in a final definitive way.
I lost contact with the man who was my best friend when he was twenty one. I've never fully recovered. Music helped me cope.
I discovered this track over twenty years after the events described in the chapter below. The guitar work is face melting and plucks at my heart strings. Morse is an underrated guitarist and often forgotten when discussions about great guitar players occur. This is despite him having won Guitar Player Magazine's Guitar Player of the Year five times in a row.
YouTube video features the aforementioned Space Shuttle crew.
Peace.
